Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Theatre in collaboration with Cutlass Artists will present “Alice’s Wonderland,” a new collaborative adaptation of “Alice in Wonderland” from the text by Lewis Carroll, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8, 9 and 10.
The production is directed and adapted by Mark Hardiman, LLCC professor of theatre. (A pre-show discussion Saturday has been cancelled.)
The production will be staged in the lower level of Sangamon Hall South on the LLCC campus, 5250 Shepherd Road. Seating is limited to 20 patrons per night, with tickets, at $15 each, available at www.cutlassartists.com. Tickets are only sold online or by calling the customer service number 866-710-8942. They will be available up to one hour prior to performances.
“Audience members will sit in small groupings of just a few chairs; the production will happen around them and over them,” says Professor Hardiman. “They will experience Alice by being immersed in the world of Lewis Carroll’s creation. The production will feature movement, voice, light and shadow to convey this surreal tale.”
Hardiman says the collaboration with Cutlass Artists “is envisioned as an artists’ collective, where artists of different disciplines can work together and collaborate to reflect on culture to provide an entertaining and educational experience.”
LLCC Theatre is committed to education in theatre, emphasizing not only performance but also growth in those involved in the production. Those participating register for college credit or participate through LLCC’s Community Education program.
