Lyn Buerkett of Hillsboro, director of adult education and literacy at Lincoln Land Community College, was recently recognized with the Presidents’ Award at the annual statewide Illinois Adult and Continuing Educators Association conference. The Presidents’ Award recognizes outstanding personal and professional contributions to adult education in Illinois and is presented by the past presidents.
Buerkett joined LLCC in 1994 as an instructor for adult education classes. She says, “I have been very fortunate to work with an amazing team in adult education throughout my 20 years at LLCC. We are proud to continue the important work that adult education provides for the students in our district.”
Judy Jozaitis, Ed.D., vice president of workforce development, states, “Lyn is to be commended for her hard work and her dedication to the many students that have successfully completed our adult education programs and improved their lives. We, at LLCC, are very proud that she is being recognized at the state level for her leadership in the field of adult education.”
