Helping us provide resources so our students have state-of-the-art classrooms, providing tomorrow’s research scientists with new microscopes and equipment for labs, giving the gift of learning by helping a student pay for books, allowing improved experiences with simulation equipment for the next generation of nurses, providing a dedicated student overcoming obstacles with emergency assistance. These are a few examples of Grow Beyond Campaign funds at work!
Recently, a community of caring individuals including faculty, staff, alumni and friends from throughout our district once again responded to the call to assist our students and improve educational opportunities for the individuals in our communities. In 2013, the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation embarked on the Grow Beyond endowment campaign, with a goal to secure $2.5 million. Thanks to generous friends, we surpassed that goal, raising more than $3.1 million. On an annual basis, we are able to spend only the earnings. The principal remains intact – anchors the fund and grows over time.
One component of the Grow Beyond campaign continues, the steppingSTONES recognition brick program. It was established to celebrate our history, but also help students for generations to come. You too can still have your name etched in a brick or paver and installed in front of our A. Lincoln Commons, with funds benefiting students and programs.
The visionaries who established Lincoln Land Community College 50 years ago may not have understood the impact they would have, but knew they wanted to change lives through education. They invested in people, and that tradition continues.
Lincoln Land Community College exists because of a caring and generous community of individuals who wanted to change lives for the better. People just like you. While the bricks, mortar and equipment provide the place and the tools to learn, it’s always been about people, about our communities helping others live their dreams. Dreams such as becoming a nurse to take care of others, getting a job as an electrician to provide for a family, or dreams of moving forward to four-year institutions and beyond to help the next generation find a better way of life.
Our communities’ interest in Lincoln Land Community College gives life to dreams, and our students thank you for it.
