LLCC Culinary Arts program to offer baking and food service sanitation classes this summer

SPRINGFIELD – The Lincoln Land Community College Culinary Arts program is offering Baking and Food Service Sanitation classes this summer.  Classes will be held on LLCC’s main campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield.
 
The Baking class (HSP 141-01) will be offered Monday and Tuesday evenings from 5 to 9:50 p.m. beginning June 2 and ending July 22.   Instructor Sandy Richey will cover a number of production techniques including breads, rolls, basic cakes and pies.  
   
Students taking the two-day Food Service Sanitation class (HSP 107-01) will learn safe food- handling techniques and take the certification exam required by the Illinois Department of Public Health.   The class will meet Wednesday, July 2 and Thursday, July 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  A five-hour recertification class (CEW 118-01) for those with current licenses will also be offered July 2 from noon to 5 p.m.
