SPRINGFIELD – Lincoln Land Community College students, alumni and employers can now connect through the College Central Network, a collaborative effort of LLCC’s Career Development and Alumni Services.
“This is one of the best free services our college has to offer,” said Career Services Director Mary Beth Ray. “Students and alumni can search for available jobs, and employers can post available positions at no cost.”
Collegecentral.com is the nation’s largest network of college job seekers. LLCC students and alumni can job hunt locally and nationally, and upload their resumes for employers to view. The resumes are first reviewed by LLCC’s Career office. “We can look at a student’s resume and give advice on making it more attractive to employers before it is posted,” said Ms. Ray.
Employers who register with the program can post job openings directly to the site and view resumes. They can also communicate directly with the job seeker. “Our office makes sure the employers and job postings are reputable before they go live on the site,” said Ms. Ray.
The service was launched Sept. 22 at LLCC. Currently 80 employers are represented. Employers, students and alumni wishing to post or look for jobs through this new service may visit collegecentral.com/llcc. More information is available by calling LLCC Career Development Services at 786.2210 or by emailing mary.pelich@llcc.edu.
