LLCC vs Big U ~ A short film by student Michael Ward

Western Region Education Center

Welcome to the LLCC Western Region Education Center!  Our facilities in downtown Jacksonville and in Beardstown offer a wide variety of college transfer courses, work skills training, and classes for those who want to learn a new skill or explore a new interest and to do so close to home.

Our diverse student body ranges in age from 16 to 85.  Some attend high school and college at the same time.  Others are employed full time in local business and industry.  Our students say that they have chosen Lincoln Land because they know they can receive a high quality education at an affordable cost ($82 per credit hour) while preparing themselves for new careers, for transfer to a four year college or university, or for advancement in their current positions.  Our students also tell us that they appreciate that our small classes, conveniently offered days, evenings and Saturdays, work around their busy lifestyles.

Parents of high school students are choosing to encourage their sons and daughters to begin their college careers at Lincoln Land as a way of exposing them to the rigor of college coursework while they are still living safely at home.   Teachers are choosing to take Lincoln Land courses to keep their certificates current as well as to learn more to prepare local public and private school students for the global society in which they will one day take their place.  Owners of growing businesses are investing in their best employees by underwriting their taking classes at Lincoln Land.

Lincoln Land is your community college.  Whether your need is to complete the coursework for a degree, to meet general education requirements to transfer to one of our fine local colleges or to simply learn something new, we are here for you.  Financial aid and scholarships are available for those who qualify.  We invite you to stop by or call to talk with one of us about how we can serve you and your family.  Let us help you START SMART.

Sincerely,

Jan Terry
