Online Summer Culinary

2021 summer youth culinary for ages 8 and up

Our online classes offer a full LLCC culinary experience to be completed in the comfort of your own home!

Classes are designed for ages 8 and older, however adult supervision may be required at your discretion.

Each individual $49 class includes access to the instructional video and a supply kit to-go that includes printed directions and all food supplies needed to prepare one complete recipe.

With access to pre-recorded online content delivery, you can register for one or more classes each week and complete them during the designated dates at any time and location that is convenient for YOU!

Culinary categories

Choose one or more classes from the following culinary categories:

  • Junior chef — Enjoy a savory cooking experience where we learn to chop, roast, simmer and sauté to create made-from-scratch dishes.
  • Pastry chef — Make fine pastries using piping and decorating techniques, sweet sauces and custards, pastry doughs and batters.
  • Bakeshop — Learn the classic techniques of measuring, mixing, blending, kneading and rolling out doughs and scooping batters to create delicious baked goods.

NEW in 2021 — CFK “Crew Kits” for groups of 5 or 10!

Experience the fun of CFK in person with family or friends nearby or online with virtual “classmates” via your own preferred social connection tool.  Register for a CFK Class Crew Kit, pick up the bundle of 5 or 10 individual class kits, distribute them within your group and enjoy the exclusive class video content – together!

If required, specialty equipment will be included in the kit.  Otherwise, you will need to have the following general kitchen items on hand:

  • Assorted spoons, spatulas, rubber spatulas, tongs
  • Chef knife with 8-inch blade, sharp
  • Colander
  • Cookie sheet
  • Cutting board
  • Electric mixer (table top or hand-held)
  • Measuring cups (dry and liquid)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Mixing bowls, assorted sizes
  • Muffin pan
  • Sauce pots, assorted sizes from 1 to 4 quart
  • Skillet 10 or 12 inch
  • Sheet pan with rimmed edges

Once classes begin, weekly supply kit pick-ups will be scheduled at LLCC’s Workforce Careers Center on the main Springfield campus.  Specific information regarding the pick-up process will be sent after you register.
