SPRINGFIELD, Sept. 22, 2020 — Lincoln Land Community College is hosting free virtual events about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for high school students and adult learners who are planning to attend college and need help figuring out how to cover the cost.
The first event on Sept. 23, 6 p.m. will provide an introduction to the FAFSA. FAFSA completion events will be held: Oct. 6, 6 p.m.; Oct. 14, 5 p.m.; Oct. 15, 5 p.m.; Oct. 20, 5 p.m.; Oct. 22, 5 p.m.; and Oct. 28, 3 p.m.
“We know many students and families have questions about the FAFSA, and we are here to help them keep moving forward by offering personalized and confidential assistance,” said Alison Mills, director of LLCC Financial Aid.
Students will need the following information accessible: social security number, driver’s license number, parent and student 2019 federal income tax returns, alien registration or permanent resident card (if not a U.S. citizen), untaxed income record (including workers’ compensation, child support, veterans benefits, etc.).
