The Lamp student newspaper at Lincoln Land Community College won the John H. Ryan Best of Show award for best student website at the recent Illinois Community College Journalism Association (ICCJA) fall conference.

Richard Bailey of Springfield is the current editor of the Lamp. Tim McKenzie of Springfield, professor of journalism and humanities and vice president of ICCJA, serves as advisor. Also attending the conference were LLCC students Emily Pasley of Springfield and Nichole Sheley of Pleasant Plains.

This is the second year in a row The Lamp has won first place at the fall convention.
