The Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum at Lincoln Land Community College is hosting the third annual Winter Art Sale on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Trutter Center on the college’s Springfield campus at 5250 Shepherd Road. This event is free and open to the public.
A wide variety of original artwork, including ceramics, paintings, photography and more, will be for sale. The artwork has been created by LLCC students during the fall semester. All proceeds from the art sale support LLCC art students and the Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum. Purchases can be made with cash, check or credit cards.
“This event provides an opportunity for the community to see student artwork and to raise funds for LLCC art students,” says Janet Semanik, LLCC Foundation development specialist and coordinator of Trutter Museum exhibits. “Plus, the art pieces make great gifts for the upcoming holiday season.”
The public is also invited to attend the art sale preview event on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Trutter Center. It provides an exclusive first opportunity to browse and buy art and includes a silent auction. Gourmet hors d’oeuvres will be prepared by LLCC culinary students, and a cash bar will also be available.
Reservations for the preview event are appreciated and can be made by calling 217-786-2785.
