Program Information:
This degree is designed to develop students’ proficiency in communicating in other languages, develop a skill for today's workplace, enable them to understand different cultural perspectives, develop students’ global perspective, and prepare them to transfer to a four-year university.
- The Program is oriented toward the actual use of language through sequential training in communication: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- Language proficiency is a skill useful in almost all areas of the workforce: criminal justice, social services, health services, education, business, legal services, communications, hospitality industry as well as government at all levels.
- This program is also appropriate for students intending to pursue a bachelor’s degree in languages.
- Coursework in languages is offered in both on-line and on-campus formats.
- All coursework is complemented with laboratory experiences that are offered on-line.
- The Program offers placement exams for students with previous study of language.
