SPRINGFIELD — The annual Giving Day event for Lincoln Land Community College is being held Friday, Nov. 14, when the community is helping advance the mission of the college by raising essential funds for student needs. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of LLCC are encouraged to participate.

“Giving Day is a powerful reminder of the generosity that fuels student success,” said Karen Sanders, vice president of advancement and executive director of the LLCC Foundation. “Every gift — regardless of size — helps unlock opportunities, remove obstacles and empower students to reach their full potential. We are proud to celebrate the donors whose support makes a lasting impact on lives and futures across our community.”

Student recipients of the financial assistance are a diverse group of individuals committed to the value of an education and the opportunities it offers, most of whom continue their education at four-year universities or pursue careers.

“This scholarship is going to help me pursue the career I have been dreaming of having” said Ava Schlueter, from Beardstown, a student in LLCC’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. “When I leave LLCC, I am hoping I can make an impact on other people’s lives as you have made a huge impact on mine.”

LLCC Foundation scholarships are made possible by community businesses, organizations and individuals, in addition to the annual faculty and staff giving campaign.

LLCC President Dr. Charlotte Warren, Ph.D., will match Giving Day donations up to $10,000, doubling the impact of every gift made.

“Gifts of all sizes are welcome and appreciated. The LLCC Foundation has a General Scholarship Fund and Emergency Fund among others that provide donors with options to help students,” added Sanders. “Visit llccfoundation.org and then click Donate to see the many ways to give.”

The LLCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation providing financial support to educational programs and services of the college by assisting in increasing and enhancing the physical and cultural environment of the college to positively impact students, alumni and the community.
