UAS Remote Pilot Test Prep course
An introductory course to prepare individuals for the Federal Aviation Administration Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) Remote Pilot Knowledge Exam. This course provides the student with an in-depth knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations along with privacy issues governing unmanned aircraft systems. The student will receive classroom training covering loading and performance, regulation, airport operations, radio communications, airspace requirements, weather theory/services, sectional charts, aeronautical decision making, physiological factors, and maintenance and inspections.

Instructor
Dante' Watson of Aeroshots LLC has been serving the Springfield area since 2018. In his work, he uses unmanned aircraft system technology to capture media for real estate, inspections, search and rescue operations, free lance flying services and UAS education for Part 107 and recreational pilots.

Basic
Basic Hands-on Flight Training
Phase 1
Indoor Flight Training: Students meet in a classroom or lab to learn fundamental UAS maintenance, and control techniques. Students will experience hands-on training in UAS operations to include: unboxing and setup, battery maintenance, smart device app setup, GPS and compass signal, propeller replacement, powering on/off, return to home, emergency procedures, reestablishing control after lost link signal, and fly away procedures. This will be the first four hours of training.
Phase 2
Outdoor Flight Training: The goal of this phase is to allow students to receive as much flight experience as possible and progressively introduce more advanced flight maneuvers. Students will learn flight planning, take off and landing at the same location, navigation, flight around obstacles, maintaining visual contact with the UAS, orbit, tracking, and camera orientation. This will be the last 12 hours of training.
