Tips for Orientation

Welcome to LLCC! We're eager to help you successfully transition to college.

Review these helpful tips to be ready for New Student Orientation:

  1. It's helpful to arrive 30 minutes early to ensure your LLCC account is activated. We will have staff available to help you activate your account up to 30 minutes before the start of orientation.
  2. If you require any special accommodations, please notify Kim Eddings, accessibility services coordinator, at 217-786-2828 or 217-786-2869 prior to orientation so we may plan accordingly.
  3. We may occasionally travel outdoors. Some tour routes have stairs, but there are accessible ramps and elevators available.
  4. The orientation will consist of a 35-minute welcome, 40-minute tour, 5-minute break, and a 70-minute technology and safety session.

Although you will be learning a lot at orientation, you will likely still have questions. We welcome your visits, calls and emails!

When coming to the main campus in Springfield for your New Student Orientation, you can park in the lots south of the Millennium Center, and then join us in the entry hallway to Menard Hall to get started!

Drive onto campus by continuing east on Toronto Road. Continue straight ahead. Parking is available to the right (west of Millennium Center). Walk to A. Lincoln Commons, which is to the north of Millennium Center. Once in A. Lincoln Commons take the doors to the right to enter Menard Hall.

Who to bring?

New Student Orientation is designed for new students. Family members may attend the tour portion but will be asked to meet up with their student at the conclusion of the orientation. No pets are allowed, except service animals.
