Mina McIntire is a private applied voice instructor at LLCC and an adjunct faculty member at Illinois Central College. Mina received her Master of Music in vocal performance and literature from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Illinois Wesleyan University. During her time at the UIUC, she was awarded a graduate teaching assistant position with the Lyric Theatre at Illinois. She was given the opportunity to teach Singing in Musical Theatre and individual voice lessons. Although she is a trained classical singer, she loves to perform and teach musical theater. She is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and sits on the board of CILNATS as the secretary. She enjoys singing professionally at churches and with local municipal bands as a guest soloist. Some of her notable roles include: Miss Jessel from “Turn of the Screw” by Britten at UIUC, La Fée from “Cendrillon” by Massenet at IWU, Mabel from “Pirates of Penzance” at Peoria Players and Johanna from “Sweeney Todd” at Eureka College. Recently, she reprised her role as Mabel in “Pirates of Penzance” with the Springfield Ohio Symphony and Ohio Light Opera.
