Manley Mallard received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Virginia, where he studied classical guitar with Glenn Caluda. He later earned a master’s degree in music education from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and a master’s degree in jazz studies from Webster University in St. Louis. From 1987-2016 he taught classical and jazz guitar, guitar ensemble, guitar pedagogy, jazz combos and music technology at Millikin University. Professor Mallard has published numerous guitar ensemble arrangements with Mel Bay, Doberman-Yppan and Guitar Chamber Music Press. In 2008, he was a guest artist for Bethlehem Guitar Festival at Moravian College where he performed the works of Adrian Le Roy on Renaissance guitar.
