As an institution of higher education, Lincoln Land Community College continues to provide academic opportunities to the students within our district. In recognizing the growing interest of high school students who wish to get an early start toward their post-secondary education, LLCC has partnered with several area high schools to offer concurrent enrollment programs. Dual Credit consists of students who have registered through their high school and the college. They are enrolled in a specific course or courses at their high school that award high school credit(s) and college credit(s) simultaneously. Dual credit is available through the Springfield, Taylorville, Litchfield, Beardstown and Jacksonville locations.
The First Semester program provides students college course instruction from LLCC faculty at their high school during the spring semester of their senior year. The students register with the college and enroll in a set of general education courses that reflect a full-time, first semester schedule of college. These courses are designed for students who plan to transfer to a college or university. The First Semester program is currently available through LLCC’s Springfield, Beardstown and Jacksonville locations. It will be offered at the Taylorville location beginning spring 2022.
The program consists of students who have registered with Lincoln Land Community College and are enrolled in a set of courses that fulfill the requirements within the general education core courses guidelines and/or a specific academic discipline at LLCC. The courses offered through the College NOW program are taught on the LLCC campus by our faculty. College NOW program is available through the Springfield, Taylorville, Litchfield, Jacksonville and Beardstown locations.
