About the Program:
The Massage Therapy program is a 650-hour course designed to prepare students to become massage therapists. A high school diploma or GED is required to enter the program. This full-time, intensive course covers Intro to Massage Theory & Fundamentals, Kinesiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pathology, Nutrition & Diet Therapy, Ethics and Business Practice. Students will learn to complete a full-body, Swedish Massage, and become familiar with massage for special populations (pregnancy, sports, lymph drainage, deep tissue). Each student will be required to complete supervised, full-body massages with a volunteer client population such as sports teams, the public, etc. as outreach and part of the training. At the end of the classroom training, a massage clinic will be held where students will perform full-body massages in a clinical setting for scheduled clients.

Certification Exam & Licensure:
Upon completion of this 650-hour course, students qualify to sit for the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam presented by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) and can then apply for licensure through the State of Illinois. Upon completion of this experience, students will have gained an advanced skill set to enter the massage therapy profession.
