Massage Therapy Program

At a Glance

The LLCC Massage Therapy program is designed to prepare students to become massage therapists. A high school diploma or GED is required to enter the program. This full-time, intensive course covers Intro to Massage Theory & Fundamentals, Kinesiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pathology, Ethics and Business Practice. Students will learn to complete a full-body, Swedish Massage and become familiar with massage for special populations (pregnancy, sports, lymph drainage, deep tissue). Each student will be required to complete supervised, full-body massages with a volunteer client population such as sports teams, the public, etc. as outreach and part of the training. At the end of the classroom training, a massage clinic will be held where students will perform full-body massages in a clinical setting for scheduled clients.

Cost

$6,995 (includes books & materials)
Note: A $500 down payment is due at time of registration.

Additional costs: Uniform for events and clinic, CPR certification, massage linens (sheets, blankets, towels)

Notes:

  • This course is not eligible for financial aid; however, payment plans are available.
  • Students using the payment plan option have up to five business days after registration to finalize their payment plans.

 

WIOA funding

Students enrolling in this program may qualify for funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) based on the following criteria:

  • Income level
  • Job loss or dislocation
  • Veteran status
  • Under-employed or unemployed adults

Students must submit an application to use WIOA funding. To confirm eligibility for funding after submitting an application, students will need to work with the Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance by calling 217-524-5996.

Registration is by appointment only from late April to early July. You may also email the LLCC Medical District to reserve your appointment.

Entrance requirements: 

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Be proficient in English
  • Must be able to stand and be physically active for long periods of time

Request Information

Upon completion of this program, students qualify to sit for the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam presented by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) and can then apply for licensure through the State of Illinois. Upon completion of this experience, students will have gained an advanced skill set to enter the massage therapy profession.
