Program Highlights
Veterinary assistants support animal health and well-being by working alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians in clinics, hopsitals, shelters and other animal care settings.
- Learn animal nursing, exam room procedures, surgical preparation, laboratory processes and basic veterinary terminology.
- Develop skills in animal handling, client communication, hospital procedures and compassionate patient care.
- Learn important administrative duties; type and update patient charts, scheduling apointments and how to properly sanitize exam rooms.

Orientation: Monday, Jan. 11, 2027, 6-8 p.m.
Class Dates: Jan. 13 - June 7, 2027, Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-9 p.m.
Externship Group A: June 9 - June 30, 2027
Externship Group B: July 5 - July 23, 2027
Externship is Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (120 hours)
Admission
Admission to the program is dependant upon meeting the prerequisites and scheduling a meeting with the program coordinator.
Program enrollment is by appointment only.
- Enrollment for the fall cohort is open from mid-April to early July.
- Enrollment for the spring cohort is open from mid-October to mid-December.
Cost
$2,990 (includes textbooks, lab fees and materials)
Additional costs: Scrubs for externship, background check, drug test and CPR certification (depending on externship requirements)
Note: This course is not eligible for financial aid; however, payment plans are available.
Students using the payment plan option have up to five business days after registration to finalize their payment plans.
