Student Spotlight | Occupational Therapy Assistant
OTA is a very dynamic field, working with clients, getting to know their stories and helping them regain function in their daily lives.

Student Spotlight | WEI
I saw that the WEI program listed a lot of different courses for certifications, and I was interested in the health care field. They offer extra tools, financial help, as well as childcare … and that’s what helped me along the way. Even though it’s a short-term class, it opens the door for what you want to do long term … it’s within reach. You just have to go out there and get it.

Alum Spotlight | Art
When I moved to Illinois, I was taking classes at LLCC to get my Illinois certification. I also took an art class and ended up changing majors. The instructors were wonderful and became friends. Professor Thom Whalen became a mentor and really broadened my perception of the career opportunities and avenues in the art field.

Faculty Spotlight | Construction

Student Spotlight | Respiratory Care

As respiratory therapy students and future respiratory therapists, we play a huge role in the hospital and take part in the most adrenaline-filled and rewarding lifesaving experiences.

Student Spotlight | Horticulture
It’s exciting to begin something new and have the resources to learn and grow at LLCC. What I look forward to most is a rewarding, hands-on and creative career that takes place in a natural environment.

Faculty Spotlight | Occupational Therapy Assistant
We had the idea of bringing our OTA students into a school with underserved students who could benefit from what we offer. In every area, the children improved during the eight-week program, especially in social interactions and executive function.

Student Spotlight | Culinary Arts
Culinary is something you’ll want to learn from real industry leaders, not a video or cookbook. The instructors here have a ton of industry experience and teach you what they’ve learned.
