At a Glance

A career in welding can take you almost anywhere. Welding is a needed skill in a broad range of industries including aerospace, automotive production, building and bridge construction, commercial diving, farm repair, manufacturing, oil rigs and refineries, power plants, robotics and ship building.

LLCC offers students the opportunity to focus solely on courses in welding while earning a certificate. Students get to train in state-of-the-art facilities available at the Springfield campus and LLCC-Taylorville and are taught by instructors who have worked in a variety of welding environments. Graduates from our program are currently working in the industries of car racing, construction, manufacturing, pipelines and others.

Certificate program start times

Day program starting Aug. 22, 2022

  • Length: 9 months
  • Dates: Aug. 22, 2022-Dec. 9, 2022
  • Meeting days/times: Monday-Friday, 7:30-11:15 a.m. All classes for the first semester are 7:30-11:15 a.m. except WEL 102 which meets 1-3:30 p.m. for the first six weeks.

Night program starting Aug. 22, 2022

  • Length: 9 months
  • Dates: Aug. 22, 2022-Dec. 8, 2022
  • Meeting days/times: All classes are Monday-Thursday, 5-9:30 p.m. except WEL 106 and WEL 107 which meet 4:30-10 p.m.
