A career in welding can take you almost anywhere. Welding is a needed skill in a broad range of industries including aerospace, automotive production, building and bridge construction, commercial diving, farm repair, manufacturing, oil rigs and refineries, power plants, robotics and ship building.
LLCC offers students the opportunity to focus solely on courses in welding while earning a certificate. Students get to train in state-of-the-art facilities available at the Springfield campus and LLCC-Taylorville and are taught by instructors who have worked in a variety of welding environments. Graduates from our program are currently working in the industries of car racing, construction, manufacturing, pipelines and others.
Degrees & Certs
LLCC offers the following programs to successfully equip you for a career in welding. LLCC’s welding certificate programs are designed to prepare students for the AWS entry-level welder certification exam and provide skill development in current welding processes, including flat and position welding.

Cost
For fall 2024, spring 2025 and summer 2025, welding (WEL) classes (except WEL 102 & 135) have a tuition rate of $210 per credit hour for in-district residents. WEL 135 has a standard in-district rate of $140 per credit hour. Get more information on tuition and fees.
