Register for Workforce 101 June 26
Are you looking to start or change careers? Do you like to work with your hands, creating something, fixing something? You’re invited to Workforce 101 sessions on Saturday, June 26 to try your hand at various trades and meet employers. Morning (9 a.m.-noon) sessions include welding, culinary, construction and aviation mechanics. Afternoon (1-4 p.m.) sessions are auto technology; heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC); and hospitality.
Choose up to two different careers to try out. Experience hands-on learning and hear from local employers about careers in their industries, demand and wages. At Workforce 101 sessions, you’ll roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with the kinds of work you’d be doing on the job. You’ll see if you can picture yourself in that career.
All participants will receive a gas card and Workforce Institute items! If you participate in both morning and afternoon sessions, you’ll also receive lunch.
All sessions except for Aviation 101 will be located in the Workforce Careers Center at LLCC’s main campus at 5250 Shepherd Road. Aviation 101 will be held at the LRS Aviation Center at 815 S. Airport Drive.
Family members are also welcome while you participate in Workforce 101 sessions. We’ll have representatives of all Workforce Institute programs, along with LLCC enrollment, financial aid and the Workforce Equity Initiative on hand to answer questions.
