Program Highlights

Diagnose and repair increasingly high-tech vehicles to keep drivers on the road.

  • Develop your problem-solving skills.
  • Train in a state-of-the-art facility with the newest automotive technology equipment.
  • Certify with Ford/Lincoln Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) and Toyota/Lexus Technician Training and education Network (T-TEN).
  • Skills learned can be used to be an auto service tech, collision tech, service advisor, collision estimator, auto shop owner, parts professional or automotive machinist.

Cost

Estimated costs for in-district students during the 2025-2026 academic year (fall 2025, spring 2026, summer 2026) and during the 2026-2027 academic year (fall 2026, spring 2027, summer 2027) are listed in the table below by degree/certificate.

Note: Additional costs include tools and books (prices subject to change). Students are required to have a basic set of tools. If student uses their own tools (which must match required tool list), the tool cost will be removed from final cost. Books sold separately.

Partnerships

The Workforce Institute partnerships with Ford/Lincoln ACE (Automotive Career Exploration) and Toyota/Lexus T-TEN (Technician Training & Education Network) allows students access to industry leading automotive technician training. The partnership agreement with Southern Illinois University Carbondale allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology.
