SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College invites families to experience the popular "Haunted Lab" on Friday, Oct. 23 from 5:30-8 p.m. in upper Sangamon Hall on the LLCC-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.
This free event is open to children of all ages, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Attendees will enjoy spooky science demonstrations, participate in hands-on activities and learn about simple experiments they can try at home.
Science shows, led by LLCC Chemistry and Biology club members and guided by chemistry and biology faculty, will kick off every 30 minutes. Children will watch high-energy demonstrations that erupt, ooze, stretch and transform — from towering elephant toothpaste fountains to shape-shifting slime to real DNA pulled from everyday fruit. Each experience is designed to spark curiosity, ignite wonder and make science feel unforgettable.
While waiting for shows, children can explore interactive stations with hands-on activities in other natural and agricultural science disciplines.
Costumes are welcome, and popcorn will be available for added festive fun.
LLCC’s Haunted Lab is sponsored by the natural and agricultural sciences department and the LLCC Chemistry and Biology Clubs.
