Patrick Pianezza’s journey from LLCC paramedic student to health care leader and nationally recognized screenwriter reflects the power of service, perseverance and purpose. Through a distinguished career in health care and the success of his feature film “Code 3,” Patrick has impacted lives both on the front lines of patient care and through storytelling that honors first responders.
While attending Lincoln Land Community College, Patrick discovered his passion for emergency medical services and completed the college’s EMT and paramedic programs, along with an associate degree in science. Building on that foundation, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a master’s degree in health care administration, which included an externship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The mentorship, support and hands-on experiences he received at LLCC helped shape the foundation for a career dedicated to helping others.
Over the past two decades, Patrick has advanced from paramedic, CPR instructor and emergency room technician to leadership roles within major health care organizations, including Sutter Health, CommonSpirit Health and Prime Healthcare. His work has influenced patient experience, workforce culture and care delivery across more than 50 hospitals and 200 clinics nationwide. Today, he continues that mission through consulting and advocacy focused on patient experience, equitable care and EMS relations.
In addition to his health care accomplishments, Patrick earned national recognition as the screenwriter of “Code 3,” a feature film inspired by his experiences in emergency medical services. After more than 14 years of dedication, the film became the No. 1 streaming movie on Hulu, bringing authentic stories of first responders to audiences across the country. Patrick remains a passionate advocate for education, mentorship and service. He frequently shares his experiences with students and aspiring professionals, encouraging them to pursue their goals with resilience and determination.
For his outstanding achievements in health care leadership, commitment to service and nationally recognized contributions to storytelling, Lincoln Land Community College is proud to recognize Patrick Pianezza as the 2026 LLCC Honored Alumnus. The award presented to Patrick was created by LLCC alumnus and artist Bryon Hartley.
