LLCC 2015 Honored Alumna

As a first generation college student, Cinda Edwards' perseverance made her a community college success story. Ms. Edwards received her Associate in Science in December of 1978 and her Associate in Applied Science – Nursing in May of 1979 at Lincoln Land Community College. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1989.

Upon graduating from LLCC, Cinda began a notable career and lifestyle of caring for others as a registered nurse here in Springfield. In just a few short years, she began working as clinical director for Priority Care, a new business model designed to meet the demand for convenient and accessible health care. Cinda’s role of coordinating a busy clinic while continuing to care for patients was vital to the success and growth of Priority Care.

Cinda credited Lincoln Land for providing her with the foundation she needed to manage her job as a nurse and as coroner of Sangamon County. Her appreciation for the quality education she received at Lincoln Land led her to serve six-plus years as an LLCC Trustee.
