Staying Connected

As the COVID-19 pandemic began to subside and many health care professionals were leaving the field, Laniese Robinson chose a different path. Defying the trend, she began her journey toward a career in respiratory therapy.

“Lincoln Land Community College worked with my schedule and made the program affordable,” she said. “I’m grateful for the Pipeline for the Advancement of the Healthcare Workforce (PATH) program and all the services provided by them.”

Through LLCC’s Respiratory Care Program (RCP), Robinson gained both the education and hands-on experience needed to prepare for her future. Courses such as mechanical ventilation gave her a clear understanding of what her day-to-day career would look like.

Her dedication paid off, and Robinson received a job offer from Springfield Memorial Hospital before she even graduated.

Like all LLCC students, Robinson carved out a path that was uniquely her own.

Her advice to those considering LLCC: “There are so many different programs to choose from and so many resources support you. Take the chance. And, stay connected to the people who helped you succeed.”
