Driving opportunity forward: Roland Machinery Co. and LLCC

For more than 50 years, Roland Machinery Co. has built its reputation as a third-generation, family-owned leader in heavy equipment sales, service, and workforce development. A longtime champion of LLCC, Roland has played a transformative role in shaping the college’s Diesel Technologies program, helping design curriculum, identify industry standards, and provide hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for high-demand careers.

The highly trained young adults that graduate from this program will have great opportunities in the construction, agriculture and on-road truck industries,” said Matt Roland, President of Roland Machinery Co. 

Roland’s commitment goes far beyond advising: the company has supported LLCC through major equipment donations, student training, scholarships, internships, and a landmark $500,000 gift in 2024 to expand diesel technology education in central Illinois. Their team actively serves on advisory committees, provides MSHA safety training, and sponsors LLCC’s Workforce Careers Expo, connecting students with more than 100 employers each year.
