LLCC celebrates Women’s History Month in March

SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College will honor Women’s History Month throughout March with a series of events celebrating women’s achievements, leadership and impact. This year’s national theme, “Leading the Change,” recognizes women who have shaped history and those who continue to champion progress in our communities. All events are free and open to the public and will take place in A. Lincoln Commons on LLCC’s Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.

Thursday, March 5 – HerStory Market, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Celebrate International Women’s Day by supporting and spotlighting women-owned businesses from the Springfield and surrounding areas. The HerStory Market will feature local vendors, entrepreneurs, entertainment and opportunities to learn more about women making a difference through creativity, business and service.

Monday, March 16 – “Wicked: For Good,” film screening, 4 p.m. — Join us for a screening of the newest “Wicked” film and enjoy popcorn and refreshments. This modern retelling highlights themes of resilience, friendship and women forging their own paths.

Thursday, March 26 – Leading the Change: Women Shaping Our Future, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — This lunch-and-learn event will feature influential women leaders from the Springfield community in a panel discussion on leadership, advocacy and the importance of women’s voices in shaping the future. Guests will share personal stories and insights on navigating challenges, inspiring others and creating meaningful change.

Women’s History Month activities are sponsored by LLCC Student Engagement and Wellbeing.
