Connecting Her Future
LLCC student Sara Bonner put a lot of thought into her education after high school. Both highly artistic and practical, she determined that Lincoln Land Community College offered the right balance of strong programming and affordability.
“I wanted to make sure I was on the right educational path before committing to a four-year institution,” she says.
At LLCC, she immersed herself in her integrated media design coursework and became involved in campus life through the LLCC Games Club. Some of her favorite memories stem from the many opportunities she had to collaborate and connect creatively with others.
“You grow so much here compared to high school,” she says. “You will carry what you’ve experienced here for the rest of your life.”
Sara recently represented LLCC as a panelist for the Mid-Illinois Communications Association, a local organization of communication professionals. During the discussion, she shared her perspective on how businesses and organizations can better connect with Generation Z audiences.
With aspirations of becoming a professional graphic designer, Sara will graduate with her associate in applied science degree in integrated media design. She plans to continue her education at Columbia College in Chicago to complete her bachelor’s degree.
One thing Sara knows she will take with her is the confidence she gained as a Logger.
“I’m so excited to out into the world with what I've learned from LLCC,” she says. “I’m excited to meet new people from different walks of life.”
