Press contact: Lynn Whalen

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – La Crosse Seed of La Crosse, Wisc. recently donated 12 varieties of seeds to the Lincoln Land Community College Agriculture program for use in a cover crop seeding demonstration.

The seeds, from the La Crosse Seed Soil First® catalog of premium cover crop blends, were distributed using the LLCC Ag program’s new T-30 UAV drone.

“We thank La Crosse Seed for their generous donation which enhanced our demonstration of how drones can be used to spread cover crop seeds to help manage soil erosion and quality,” said Bill Harmon, LLCC professor of agronomy and ag program coordinator.

The award-winning LLCC Ag program offers cutting edge instruction, competitive events and student clubs and is housed in the state-of-the-art Kreher Agriculture Center, featuring simulators, precision ag equipment and labs, and a newly-opened greenhouse for horticulture studies.
