LLCC honors 2023 Distinguished Service Awards recipients

SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College honored 2023 Distinguished Service Award winners, employees with service anniversaries, retirees, faculty emeriti and those who have earned the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) – Effective Teaching Practices credential at the LLCC Employee Recognition Ceremony May 10.

The college presented four Distinguished Service Awards to individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership and service to the college community, promote a student-focused environment and exhibit a strong commitment to the college’s core values. 

Distinguished Service Award recipients: 

Chatham: Administrator – Dr. Joel Dykstra, interim associate vice president, academic services
Edinburg: Classified Staff – Elaine Higgason, program assistant, accessibility services (also 20-year service honoree)
Springfield: Professional Staff – Laurie Clemons, student success coach; Faculty – Rebecca Miller, professor of psychology 

Thirty-year service honorees:

Litchfield: Donna Satterlee, professor of nursing (also recognized as retiree)
Springfield: Nina Koch, records specialist; Dr. Brenda Michel, professor of nursing; Jennifer Ramm, professor of chemistry (also recognized for ACUE credential); Leanne Roseberry, library acquisitions specialist
Taylorville: Dee Krueger, director, LLCC-Taylorville
